Some of what we do isn't a room, it's a program. Here's what your child actually does with us across the day and the year.
Our Kindergarten room runs a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program in the year before school, led by a qualified early childhood teacher. The funding comes off your fees as a weekly reduction — you'll see the real number in the calculator.
Slow mornings on the floor, a sleep when your baby wants one rather than when the clock says so, and the garden door open so the crawlers can take themselves outside. Bottles, nappies and cot linen are ours; you bring the comfort item and we'll learn its name.
Gumboots on first thing, whatever the sky is doing. The mud kitchen is open every day rather than as a treat, the worm farm gets fed by whoever asks, and toileting happens at your child's pace — there is no week we are aiming for.
Every week our kinder children head out for Bush Kinder — real sticks, real mud, real weather along the river reserve. It builds the kind of resilience and curiosity that only comes from being outside in it.
The children plant, water and pick from our veggie patch, feed the fruit scraps to the worm farm, and carry the harvest in to Marco, our cook. Lunch really does start in the garden bed.
