Your first weeks
School-age children mostly settle by being given something to do and somebody who knows their name. Both are arranged before the first afternoon.
The first afternoon
We collect from the classroom door for the first week, by name, so nobody has to find us. An educator is introduced as your child's person for the fortnight — the one who checks in, saves them a seat at afternoon tea and knows which zone they gravitated to yesterday.
Who signs them in and out
Every arrival and collection is signed at the kiosk by name and time, and you can ask to see your own child's record at any point. Anyone else collecting must be on your list and will be asked for ID the first few times, including grandparents. Nobody has ever minded.
What to pack
Nothing extra for before or after school — breakfast, afternoon tea and all activities are in the session fee. Vacation care days need a packed lunch, a drink bottle and closed shoes on excursion days; the program says which ones three weeks ahead.
